Jennifer | Bridal Fashion in Chicago | Part 1

Last week we had the opportunity to work with Jennifer and Jake whose wedding we shot this past October. Jennifer and Jake were married in St. Paul this past October, and we were excited for the chance to work with them again.  We did a bridal fashion shoot for Jennifer and the next day we worked with Jake to shoot his new album cover. We'll be posting some previews from his shoot soon.  Here are a few of our favorites from the first part of the day of Jennifer's fashion bridal session.  We went out late at night and shot in the Loop for the second part of the bridal fashion session; we'll be posting part 2 soon!

The shots below are inspired by a photoshoot that was in BON, a Swedish fashion magazine. We love how these came out!

Lizzie + Mangesh | E-Session | Wicker Park, Chicago

Lizzie and Mangesh are getting married in May at Salvage One, a very hip, alternative space in Chicago.   This weekend we met up with them to shoot their engagement session in Wicker Park, and we had such a great time.  They were beaming the entire session, and it made us so excited for their wedding day!

The Ravenswood Billboard Factory: Event Creative Open House

Event Creative hosted a fabulous party at the Ravenswood Billboard Factory to showcase the latest in their wedding and corporate event design. They are a truly innovative company with incredibly talented artists who create some of the most unique concepts to bring a room to life and mesh interesting architecture with your own vision. We're fascinated by the way Event Creative always pushes the boundaries of what is possible in event design; they are constantly seeking new ways to blend fabrics, water, projections, florals, textures, and other materials. All of these elements were present in their new designs, and it was fun to photograph them. The loft at the Ravenswood Billboard Factory has one of the most impressive window pane walls in Chicago and makes for a spectacular wedding venue. Event Creative demonstrated two different wedding setups, both with color schemes that work magnificently well with the rich blues of the Chicago evening sky.

Toast, Taste and Tour: The Ivy Room

In our previous post, we highlighted the delicious food that the Entertaining Company provided at the Ivy Room last Sunday for Toast, Taste and Tour put on by Kara at Magnificent Milestones. Today, we wanted to highlight the space itself at the Ivy Room.

The Ivy Room at Tree studios is a relatively new space, and we had the opportunity to shoot a wedding there this past summer.  There are many unique aspects to this space, one of which is its ivy filled courtyard which is an incredibly romantic setting for a ceremony and perfect for the cocktail hour. Inside is a very open space that presents great opportunities for creative event design; in this case it was done by Event Creative (watch for our post about their fabulous open house at the Ravenswood Billboard Factory later this week). A somewhat unpublicized bonus of having your wedding at the Ivy Room is getting to work with Donna Albertson. She truly cares for her brides and goes to great lengths to ensure their wedding day is everything they envisioned and more.
