After living in New York, then Chicago, Sarah and Matt chose to have their wedding in their hometown of Neenah, Wisconsin. If you've been reading our blog for a while, they will look familiar because of their previous appearances, starting with Matt's perfectly planned proposal and then their engagement session. After an early evening ceremony, we headed out in the below-freezing temperatures for some photos around town. They and their wedding party endured the cold long enough for some great photos. Their evening reception at the North Shore Golf Club was warm and inviting. Their formal party in a very warm home-like setting, complete with couches and fireplaces, was a great reflection of who they are. My very favorite part of the evening was when Sarah's sister-in-law, a professional vocalist, started singing "You're Just to Good be True." Right as the chorus started up, Matt pulled a wireless mic out of his coat pocket and sang his heart out to Sarah. The look on her face when she realized what he was doing was amazing (see below), and yes, Matt can really sing!! A huge thank you to Lauren Knuepfer for her excellent work in coordinating the wedding perfectly, and to Donna Albertson of the Ivy Room who we recruited for some impromptu lighting-assistant duties.
Here are a few of our favorite images from that evening.
