If this couple looks familiar, its because you might be remembering the session we did with them in Chicago (that or you are in the wedding photography industry). While they were here we found out they were going to be in Paris at the same time as we were and decided we should get an apartment there together (...or we may have convinced them to come...I'm fuzzy on the details at the moment).
Either way, it happened, and one day while staying in Paris, we took the train out to Versailles for some sightseeing and of course, to do a little shooting. The sightseeing was just ok, but what a spectacular setting and backdrop for photos. I know I'm not the only one - I'm sure certain movies entire raison d'etre were an excuse to film there (yes, I'm looking at you Sofia Coppola). The Gardens (and stairs) at Versailles even make an uncredited, unexplained, and quite random appearance in Terrance Malick's To The Wonder (which was a great film - while we are on the topic).
All that to say, here are a few pictures we really liked from our shoot in the gardens outside the Palace of Versailles.
