Don and Gina are another one of the couples we photographed in both Paris and Chicago. They are having an amazing wedding in St. Tropez this summer (yes, it will be as awesome as it sounds). Every shoot is a collaboration, and like any partnership, the best ones are where each party does everything they can to help the other succeed. They knew we like our cities to look empty, and thus they volunteered to shoot at any time of night or day that would be most conducive to achieving that look. None of our clients had ever done this before. We were initially taken aback by the offer, but decided to take them up on it. It seemed a little magical to easily shoot in the Louvre, and several of the bridges on the Seine without any interference at all. Having shot here on many occasions before, I couldn’t believe my eyes (and the shots we were getting) as we set up for that one photo in front of I.M. Pei’s Pyramid and we could include the entire plaza/square of the Louvre without a single extraneous person in it.
